Job Summary

Flame Pharma is working alongside a dynamic and successful company specialising in the provision of analytical research, consultancy and formulation advice to most of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, to recruit an experienced senior business development manager. They have created a unique facility combining state-of-the-art analytical technologies with a team of experts in pharmaceutical, chemical and materials science. The Role

Working as part of the business development team your role primarily focuses on national and international development of new client networks and contract sales. In this dynamic position you will use your scientific background in a non-experimental role. You will have an established network within the pharmaceutical sector and will be able to demonstrate successful and sustained revenue generating portfolios. The geographical location of the client portfolio means that the ability to undertake periods of overseas travel is required. The key responsibilities of this role comprise:-Client Relationship Development, including proactive planning and prioritising of BD activities, attending and presenting technically at external client/prospect meetings, conferences and exhibitions to promote company’s technical and service capabilities, with tangible outcomes in terms of tender and sales, proactive account management of existing clients, contract Sales Negotiation, including generating sales leads, liaising with internal technical teams, and drafting and negotiating client quotations for new projects Also marketing, including collection and preparation of relevant technical information for the marketing of our services through various media.

The Person

You will possess high technical proficiency in pharmaceutical analysis and/or pharmaceutical formulation, you will be interested in all aspects of commercial operations including contract sales and marketing and you will have excellent communication abilities, A PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or in physical or materials sciences with a industrial experience within pharmaceutical development or a CRO, or equivalent qualifications/experience in a related field. Experience of developing new business and client networks, successfully developing revenue generating portfolios, pharmaceutical and formulation development, surface analysis and solid state characterisation & pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines would be a distinct advantage.
